The James River Ball Patrons (JRB Patrons) recently hosted Tampa Taiko featuring guest percussionist, Ron Collins. Mr. Collins visited all K-12 schools and was received with great enthusiasm and thunderous applause! With the JRB Patrons' goal to increase student interest in music programming and opportunities, Mr. Collins conducted the interactive workshops which had both students and school staff on their feet and keeping the beat! Using a collection of taiko drums made from discarded barrels,
Tampa Taiko entertained and educated our student audiences with an exciting traditional presentation of the ancient Japanese art form broadening student understanding of the historical and global connections of music. Thank you to all who continue to support the goals of the JRB Patrons as we bring Fine Arts programs to Hopewell students.

On April 10, 11, 17, and 18, Madame Butterfly, played by Jackie Shornak, visited Hopewell City Schools to promote reading and teach the children about the life cycle of a butterfly. Each student was gifted "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book to remember the visit and presentation. Patrons were also present for the event, taking part in the presentation and interacting with the children.

The JRBPC sponsored the performance by the Latin Ballet at Hopewell High School on Wednesday, Jan 15th. What a wonderful event!

On Nov 20 & 21, 2024 performances of Aesop's Hits were provided to 2nd through 5th grade students. The students traveled by school bus and watched the performances in the Hopewell High School auditorium.

Students at Patrick Copeland Elementary School experienced a live theater performance of "Have you filled your bucket today?". The program centered around social emotional learning, teaching students ways to be kind to others. Additionally, students were asked to interact throughout the performance and had a chance to discuss the play and ask questions with the actors.
